Highlites From Art in the Garden

August 16 was our annual Art in The Garden in Jeanette's backyard. The atmosphere there is so beautiful and comfortable. thank you Jeanette, for making it available year after year. The food was delicious...we have so many good cooks in the ward. We enjoyed the display of handcrafted items and the talents on the program . Maybe the best part of all, is just the getting together, and the sharing and laughter. So, sisters, start now to think about what you would like to learn, do, or share for next year.

This year there were extra good desserts Mmmmm!

Jeanette displayed some little humanitarian dresses......she has been busy sewing and others have helped. We want to have 100 done before Christmas. 23 are completed already. Help is needed, and there is something everyone can do. Sign up sheets will be going around Sunday at Relief Society.

If you have a serger you can do the assembly of the body
Elastic needs to be threaded through casings on the neck and sleeves

A little heart will be embroidered on each one with a blanket stitch

Threads need to be clipped

So you see, there is something for everyone to do.

Here are a few of the dresses completed. We have plenty of fabrics available

The Stake Relief society activity is coming up in September and we will have the opportunity to sew bodies and clothing for soft dolls, for another humanitarian project. We hope to see many women from our ward going to support this activity this year. Listen for more details.

GOOD NEWS

Linda Brill has a new baby grandson.

Gayla Cook has a new baby Granddaughter. She is Candace's baby, and she joins four brothers and a sister.

Adam and Megan Bouck have welcomed a baby girl, Lucy Claire, to their family.

Congratulations to all of these families!

Jill Stapley and her son Wes, have been called back a couple of times now for the BIGGEST LOOSER! Good luck making the show.
